Founded in South Africa in 1994, MUR Shipping group has been operating steadily for many years and has developed into a large multiple transporting enterprise integrating fleet asset owning, cargo transportation and ship management businesses. We control more than 130 geared , mostly grabs fitted/boxy hold dry-bulk vessels with deadweight ranging from 27000 to 66000 tons, with an average age of under 10 years old, through self-own /long-term and short-term charter, and we have carried more than 1000 shipments or more than 43 million tons of cargo volume annually.
Our company specializes in non-liner transportation of bulk cargoes such as grain, coal, fertilizer, alumina, log, petroleum coke, as well as breakbulk cargoes like steel, project equipment, bagged chemicals, containers, vehicles, steel/cement piles, etc. We also achieved great success in wind power projects in recent years and has built up more than 20 self-owned windmill fitted fleets to undertake long term contracts for many major wind power shippers and suppliers.
Our company has 13 branch offices globally with about 250 shore employees and more than 2000 self-dispatched crews, covering 24 major trade routes around the world by serving more than 300 long-term clients.
